About SpeakerBugHi. If you're reading this you are probably interested in the wonderful world of DIY loudspeaker building. Speakerbug was established in September 2007 to help supply Australian DIY speaker builder at competitive prices. With the recent appreciation in the Australian dollar against the US currency our prices were becoming less competitive in world terms. We have therefore adopted the policy of pricing our product in US dollars and then converting to Australian dollars at current exchange rates. This reflects the fact that to a large extent we all operate in a global market. By pricing in US dollars and keeping exchange rates up to date, our prices will always be in line with worldwide competition. Couple that with faster delivery and lower shipping and I think you will agree that we offer great value to the Australian market. I would like your business so please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I'm certainly not going to get rich doing this but my overheads are incredibly low - so I'm not going to go broke either. In any case I'll have enough parts to build a lot of speakers myself - hehe. I should also say a bit about the quality of Jantzen Audio components. Every cap and coil I've measured using my digital LCR meter comes in consistently close to nominal values unlike some other brands I've used. Before using Jantzen Audio I had thought that my DMM was suspect because of the dispersion in measured values - not anymore - even the MOX and wirewound resistors measure well within tolerance. You can feel confident you are buying excellent quality and even more so when you consider that Jantzen parts are used in some high end products from top European speaker manufacturers. We are now air freighting in all our Caps, resistors and small value coils so we'll rarely if ever be out of stock of these items. For larger value coils, sea freight is still the only way we can keep prices down. If the values you need are currently out of stock,as at 3 July 2009, a new shipment should be here by late August or early September. All the 15 AWG,18AWG air core and P-Cored inductor values should be restocked. As part of that shipment we will also be bringing in some of the new Wax Coils to give your signature project that little something extra! I will notify registered cutomers via email when the stock arrives. Happy speaker building!, Stephen Stekhoven, SpeakerBug |
